Dara Defreitas is a recent Mount Royal University graduate, receiving a Bachelor of Communication degree from her four years of study.

 

She thoroughly loves photography, but also enjoys being in front of a camera. She has experience in videography and photography as well as graphic design.

 

Dara is utterly passionate about anything "geek" culture. For three years, Dara was a video game reviewer with a TV show that aired in various parts of the United States called Interactive Entertainment.

 

Dara has written for the Calgary Journal, a city-wide paper, for three years. She has worked on the pet beat, fitness beat, and has written numerous first-person articles. Dara has also written articles related to her passion - video games.

 

Dara is the founder and past president of an official Mount Royal University club called, "Club N3Rd." She started the club as a way to connect, strengthen, and socialize people who are in the local gaming community in her school and in Calgary. In the first two days of promoting Club N3Rd, an astounding number of people showed interest – 230 people eagerly signed up. Today - two years later Club N3Rd has over 600 members.
